The Leiria Castle is open at 10 am. It is a fortress which used to be a place of strategic impotance in Portugal.

First it had belonged to the Moors but in 1135 it had been seized by Alfonso I of Portugal. Visitors may see 14th and 18th Century parts of the old castle. The most interesting places inside the castle are: Armory Museum, Royal Palace with a beautiful balcony, ruins of Nossa Senhora da Penha church.

I didn't spend much time in the castle and at 12 am I took a bus to Lisbon.
