Algarve is the last region that I wanted to visit at the end of my holidays in Portugal. The postcard-like beaches, caves hidden in rocks, small, sandy isles and picturesque bays seemed to ensure perfect relaxation.

The fact that Algarve is situated on the south of Portugal encouraged wealthy investors to come.

According to the guide book it is an extraordinary region for tourists. And indeed it kind of is, but honestly, the traditional atmosphere  and naturalness were destroyed by huge hotels, thousands of swimming pools and villas. To put it briefly, the region is over invested, especially to the west of Faro.

However, I wasn't discouraged by that. I started with visiting Lagos. However, I didn't intend to go further than Faro.
